Comets Sign Forward Joel Lowry to PTO

Utica, NY - Utica Comets General Manager Ryan Johnson announced today that the club has signed forward Joel Lowry to a professional tryout contract.

Lowry, 26, has appeared in 26 ECHL games this season with the Manchester Monarchs collecting a team-high 29 points (13-16-29) and 17 penalty minutes. The Calgary, Alberta native dressed in 40 games with the Ontario Reign last season posting eight points (1-7-8) and 64 penalty minutes.

The 6-2, 185-pound forward has registered 19 points (6-13-19) in 81 career AHL games with the Reign since turning pro following four seasons at Cornell University.

Lowry was originally selected by the Los Angeles Kings in the fifth round, 140th overall, at the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
