Utica Comets News Release

Utica Comets Director of Hockey Operations Pat Conacher announced that the Comets have reassigned defenseman Sacha Guimond to the Gwinnett Gladiators of the ECHL.

Guimond, 22, has appeared in two games for the Comets in the 2013-14 season, without registering a point. He has also appeared in six AHL contests with the Worcester Sharks and Norfolk Admirals during the 2012-13 season.

The 6'2", 185-pound native of Ville-Marie, Quebec split the 2012-13 season with the ECHL's San Francisco Bulls and the Gwinnett Gladiators where he put up 49 points (12 goals, 37 assists) in 58 games. Following the season, he became the third rookie in ECHL history to be named Defenseman of the Year and was also named to the ECHL All-Rookie Team and the All-ECHL First Team. He led the league in power-play goals (9) and points (29) among defensemen.
