Winnipeg Jets Jets Recall Ben Chiarot; Place Paul Postma on Injured Reserve

The Winnipeg Jets today announced they have recalled defenceman Ben Chiarot from the St. John's IceCaps of the American Hockey League. The Winnipeg Jets also announced they have placed defenceman Paul Postma on the Injured Reserve List retroactive to Oct. 27/13.

Chiarot, 22, has played in nine games with the IceCaps so far this season. In that time, the left-handed defenceman has recorded five points (2G, 3A) and eight penalty minutes. The Hamilton, ON native has played in 89 career AHL games between St. John's and Chicago for 19 career points (4G, 15A) and 112 career penalty minutes. He was originally drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers in the fourth round, 120nd overall, in the 2009 NHL Draft.
