Comeback Kids Do It Again! Beat Chillicothe, 10-9 In The Tenth
July 13, 2003 - Frontier League (FL)
Evansville Otters News Release
Evansville â In what has become a very familiar routine, the Evansville Otters (30-16) came from behind and defeated the Chillicothe Paints (28-16) in extra innings.
After taking the lead by scoring a run in each of the first three innings, the Otters lost the lead when the Paints scored five runs in the fifth to make the score 5 â 3. Every time the Otters retook the lead the Paints were able to respond until the bottom of the ninth when, with the score 8 â 6, the Otters tied the game and extra innings were in store. The deadlock didn't last long, however, as the Paints broke the tie in the top of the tenth when they scored one run with the help of a fielding error and a wild pitch by the Otters. The Otters answered in the bottom of the inning when center-fielder Auntwan Riggins doubled, advanced to third by a sacrifice by Carlos Brackley, and was driven home by a Tyson Arishenkoff triple. The tie was broken for good when 2b David Griffin flied out to right and Arishenkoff tagged up and scored.
The series wraps up on Monday night with game three. Game time is 7:05 and Monday is LST 325 night at Bosse Field with free admission for all service veterans. For more information or tickets call 435-8686.
