Columbus Crew SC Advances to Audi 2018 MLS Cup Playoffs Eastern Conference Semifinals against the New York Red Bulls

COLUMBUS - By virtue of advancing past D.C. United on Thursday night, Columbus Crew SC heads to the Audi 2018 MLS Cup Playoffs Eastern Conference Semifinals and is set to face the New York Red Bulls in a two-legged aggregate goal series held on November 4 and November 11. Crew SC is set to host face the New York Red Bulls for Leg 1 on Sunday, November 4 at 3:00 p.m. ET at MAPFRE Stadium. The Leg 1 match is set to be televised nationally on ESPN and ESPN Deportes. The match will also air locally on the radio on CD102.5 FM in English. The club's official website, ColumbusCrewSC.com, is set to stream the English-language radio broadcast online as well as host the Spanish-language audio broadcast.

Single-match tickets to the Eastern Conference Semifinals and the potential Eastern Conference Championship are now available at ColumbusCrewSC.com. Following the Leg 1 match on November 4 at MAPFRE Stadium, the Black & Gold will travel to Red Bull Arena on Sunday, November 11 for Leg 2 against the Red Bulls. Additional details on Leg 2 will be available in the near future.

This is the 13th time in club history that Crew SC has reached the Audi MLS Cup Conference Semifinals. This is also the fourth time in five seasons under Sporting Director and Head Coach Gregg Berhalter the Black & Gold have reached the same stage, having previously achieved this in 2014, 2015 and 2017. In 2017, the last time Crew SC reached the Conference Semifinals, the Black & Gold defeated New York City FC over two legs on a 4-3 aggregate score en route to reaching the Eastern Conference Championship.

Crew SC posted a home record of 11-2-4 during the 2018 MLS regular season, outscoring opponents 32-21. Similarly, the Black & Gold finished the regular season on a seven-match home unbeaten streak with a record of 6-0-1 dating back to a 2-1 home victory over Real Salt Lake on June 30.

The Black & Gold faced the New York Red Bulls twice during the 2018 MLS regular season, with Crew SC posting a record of 1-0-1 against the Red Bulls. Should the Black & Gold defeat the New York Red Bulls on aggregate goals over the two legs of the Audi 2018 MLS Cup Playoffs Semifinals, the Black & Gold would advance to the Eastern Conference Championship.
