
Columbus Blue Jackets Sign Defenseman Anton Blomqvist to Standard Three-Year Entry Level Contract

COLUMBUS, OHIO - The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed defenseman Anton Blomqvist to a standard three-year entry level contract, Blue Jackets Executive Vice President and General Manager Scott Howson announced today.
Blomqvist, who turned 21 on March 7, registered two assists and 36 penalty minutes in 35 games with the Malmo Redhawks of the Swedish Allsvenskan League. The Kristianstad, Sweden native was the Blue Jackets' fifth pick, 167th overall, in the 2009 Entry Draft. He has recorded 3-3-6 and 69 penalty minutes in 76 games with Malmo (Sweden) and 0-4-4 and 20 penalty minutes in 21 games with Malmo (Sweden-2).
