Sharks Recall Left Wing John McCarthy from Worcester

SAN JOSE - San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has recalled left wing John McCarthy from the Worcester Sharks, the team's top development affiliate

McCarthy, 24, has posted four points (2-24) in 36 games with San Jose this season. He missed 17 games on Injured Reserve with an upper body injury from Dec. 15 through Jan. 17.

He has played in 12 games with Worcester this season, posting four points (two goals, two assists), a plus-three rating and seven penalty minutes.

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound native of Boston, Massachusetts was selected by San Jose in the seventh round (202nd overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
