Amerks Defenseman Evan Oberg to Miss Remainder of Season with Neck Injury

March 17, 2011 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Rochester Americans News Release

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans announced today that defenseman Evan Oberg will miss the remainder of the 2010-11 American Hockey League after suffering a neck injury in the third period of Rochester's game against the Hamilton Bulldogs on Sunday, March 13th at Copps Coliseum.

"Unfortunately, Evan injured his neck as a result of the hit from behind on Sunday," said Amerks Head Coach Chuck Weber. "Evan is in good spirits and is moving around on his own. He has a couple more doctor appointments to rule out any other issues. This season is over for Evan, but we look forward to him making a full recovery for the 2011-12 season."

The Amerks return to the ice on Saturday, March 19th as they take on the Grand Rapids Griffins at 7:00 p.m. at Van Andel Arena. Fans can tune into all the live action on SportsRadio 1280 WHTK and FM 107.3, Rochester's Sports Talk.
