Columbus Blue Jackets Assign Josh Anderson to Springfield Falcons

Springfield, Mass. - The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned left wing Josh Anderson to the Springfield Falcons, Blue Jackets General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.

Anderson, 20, was recalled on January 15 and made his NHL debut the following night against the New York Rangers. He appeared in four games with the Blue Jackets, registering seven shots on goal, 17 hits and two penalty minutes, while averaging 13:24 time on ice. Prior to his recall, he collected 4-7-11 and 56 penalty minutes in 37 games with the Falcons.

Columbus' fourth pick, 95th overall, in the 2012 NHL Draft, Anderson posted career highs in goals, points and penalty minutes with the Ontario Hockey League's London Knights in 2013-14 as he collected 27-24-51 and 81 penalty minutes in 59 games. The Burlington, Ontario native registered 62-60-122 and 192 penalty minutes in 191 career OHL games and also represented Canada at the 2014 World Junior Championships.
