Columbus Assigns Olivier Labelle and Brent Walton

Syracuse, NY (September 20, 2006) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned right wings Olivier Labelle and Brent Walton to the Crunch.

Labelle, 21, appeared in 67 games with Acadie-Bathurst (QMJHL) last season, recording 50 goals, 50 assists and 187 penalty minutes. A native of St. Eustache, Quebec, Labelle signed an AHL contract with Syracuse this off-season.

Walton, 22, appeared in 40 games with Western Michigan (CCHA) last season, tallying 25 goals, 17 assists and 18 penalty minutes. In six games with Syracuse last season, the Elmira, Ontario native registered seven penalty minutes.

The Crunch open their 13th AHL season on October 6 in Toronto. The clubs home opener is Friday, October 13 vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton for Express Mart Opening Night.
