HERSHEY - The 2006 Calder Cup Champion HERSHEY BEARS have announced in conjunction with the NHL's Washington Capitals that left wing Chris Bourque and goaltender Maxime Daigneault have been assigned to HERSHEY'S 69th training camp. The announcement was made jointly today by BEARS President/GM Doug Yingst and Capitals VP/General Manager George McPhee.

Bourque, a member of HERSHEY'S 2006 Calder Cup Championship team, scored eight goals in 52 games for the BEARS last season. Daigneault appeared in three AHL games in 2005-06 while playing the majority of last season for South Carolina (ECHL). Both players are expected to join on-ice practices Saturday morning at GIANT Center.

The BEARS will take to the ice for the club's first exhibition game of the season Monday, September 25 at Voorhees, NJ against the Philadelphia Phantoms at 1:00 p.m. Following a game at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Friday, September 29 at 7:05 p.m., the BEARS will play home exhibition games on Saturday, September 30 and Sunday, October 1. HERSHEY will face the Norfolk Admirals on the 30th at 7:00 p.m. before facing the Penguins October 1 at 5:00 p.m. Tickets for all BEARS home games are on sale now at the GIANT Center box office, or by calling (717) 508-BEAR.

The Washington Capitals will face the New Jersey Devils this Sunday at GIANT Center at 5:00 p.m. Tickets are available at the GIANT Center box office, or by calling (717) 534-3911. Washington goaltender Olie Kolzig is expected to face legendary New Jersey backstop Martin Brodeur in the contest.
