Important Changes to Admirals Training Camp

NORFOLK, VA - Due to construction delays at Norfolk Scope Arena, the Norfolk Admirals' Training Camp will be held at the Chilled Ponds Ice Sports Complex in Chesapeake. The Annual Red vs. White Intra-squad Scrimmage Game will also be held at Chilled Ponds on Friday, September 29, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Chilled Ponds, the Official Training Facility of the Norfolk Admirals, is located at 1416 Stephanie Way in Chesapeake.

Players will report to Scope on Monday, September 25 for physicals. Beginning on Tuesday, September 26, all practices will be held at Chilled Ponds and are open to the public.

From Tuesday though Thursday, September 26-28, the team will be on the ice at Chilled Ponds from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. and from 2:30 - 3:30 p.m.

On Friday, September 29, the team will be on the ice from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. The Annual Red and White Intra-squad Scrimmage Game will take place from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. (please note the time change). The game is open to the public and free of charge. Youth hockey players from Chilled Ponds will be collecting donations for their youth hockey program during the game.

For the second straight year, the Admirals will face the defending Calder Cup Champions in their first preseason exhibition game. On Saturday, September 30, the Admirals will travel to Hershey to face the Bears at Giant Center at 7:00 p.m. The next day, Sunday, October 1, Norfolk will face the Philadelphia Phantoms at the Polonia Bank Flyers Skate Zone in Northeast Philadelphia at 2:00 p.m.

The Admirals will also practice on the ice at Chilled Ponds Monday through Friday, October 2-6, from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

The Admirals open their seventh season of AHL hockey in Philadelphia on October 6 before heading to Scope for their home opener on Friday, October 13 versus the Springfield Falcons at 7:15 p.m. Season tickets, 20-game plans, ten-packs and group tickets are on sale now through the Admirals' office and through the Admirals' website.
