Columbus Assigns Defenseman Mathieu Roy

Syracuse, NY (February 16, 2010) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned defenseman Mathieu Roy to the Crunch.

Roy, 26, has appeared in 13 games with the Crunch this season, tallying four assists and 32 penalty minutes. In addition, he has skated in 31 games with Columbus this year, notching 10 assists and 17 penalty minutes.

A native of St. Georges, Quebec, Roy was signed by Columbus as a free agent on July 14, 2009. He was originally selected by Edmonton in the seventh round, 215th overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

Tickets for the Mirabito Outdoor Classic, the AHL's first-ever outdoor game, are priced at $30 for end grandstand and $40 for center grandstand seating. Group pricing begins at 20 tickets and range as low as $26.

The Crunch's next game is on Wednesday, February 17 to battle the Texas Stars at 7:00 p.m. Season and single-game tickets are now on sale and can be purchased by calling the Crunch office at (315) 473-4444 or by stopping by the Crunch office in the War Memorial at Oncenter, located at 800 South State Street in downtown Syracuse.
