
Bulldogs Blanked 5-0 By Stars

Hamilton, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs were defeated by the Texas Stars 5-0 on Tuesday night at Copps Coliseum. Richard Bachman stopped all 17 shots that he faced for the Stars to earn the shutout.
Texas opened the game's scoring at 14:42 of the first period. Raymond Sawada fired a shot that was saved by Hamilton starting goaltender Cedrick Desjardins. The rebound bounced onto the stick of Warren Peters, who slid the puck between the legs of the goaltender and into the net.
The Stars took a 2-0 lead at 5:59 of the middle frame. Mathieu Beaudoin and Andrew Hutchinson skated into Hamilton's zone on a 2-on-1. Beaudoin fed a pass across to Hutchinson, who one-timed a shot past the glove of Desjardins. Texas added to its lead at 7:17. Francis Wathier fired a shot that was saved by Desjardins. The save put the goaltender out of position, allowing Aaron Gagnon to fire the rebound into the back of the net.
Following the goal, Curtis Sanford replaced Desjardins in net.
Trevor Ludwig gave the Stars a 4-0 lead at 11:08 of the second stanza. Peters skated down the right side before dishing a pass across the front of the net to Ludwig, one tapped the puck past Sanford. Texas took a 5-0 lead at 18:21. Perttu Lindgren sent a pass to Beaudoin who tried to make a pass across the front of the net. The puck bounced off the leg of a Hamilton defender and past Sanford.
The Bulldogs will travel to Grand Rapids to meet the Griffins on Friday, February 19th for a 7:00 p.m. game.
