San Angelo, TX --- July 5, 2004 --- The San Angelo Colts announced today that they have acquired left-handed pitcher Jodie Kennedy from the Joliet Jackhammers of the Northern League for future consideration.
Kennedy, a 60" 190 pound pitcher, lives in Quitman, MS. He was signed by the Boston Red Sox in 2001 and played for the A franchise in Lowell, MA. His ERA was 3.06 in 17 innings. In 2002 and 2003 Kennedy pitched for Fargo-Moorhead of the Northern League. He compiled a 10W 6L record with a 3.64 ERA for the 2003 Northern League Championship team. Kennedy will join the Colts starting rotation.
To make room for Kennedy, the Colts released RHP Sam Greco who had a 0W and 1L record with a 4.10 ERA in 37 innings of work.
