
Colts Haunt the Spitfires with 6-1 Victory on Halloween Night

Lucas Chiodo would lead the way potting two goals and an assist earning first star honours in a spooktacular 6-1 victory for the Barrie Colts over the Windsor Spitfires Saturday night.
It was Barrie's annual Halloween game finally returning home after two weeks away on the road, the boys would not disappoint haunting the Spitfires from start to finish.
Ryan Suzuki would increase his point total adding a goal and two assists while Maksim Zhukov made 30 saves picking up his 5th victory of the season.
The Spits and Colts going to battle once again for the 2nd and final matchup between the clubs. Meeting just over one week ago, the Spitfires took game one of the season series coming back from two goals down in third period to steal a 4-3 win.
The Colts top line would strike just 1:30 into this one. A quick shot from the point by Tyler Tucker would get tipped in front by Chiodo for his 9th of the season. Suzuki grabbing an assist on the games opening marker.
Midway through the first Matthew Macdougall would even things up for the Spitfires, but just moments later Barrie would retake the lead again for good.
Chiodo breaking in all alone fired a snapshot just over the pad of Kari Piiroinen for his 2nd of the game and 10th on the campaign. Tucker and Suzuki would each collect their second assists of the night.
With just over two minutes remaining in the first, it would be the pk specialist Matej Pekar stealing the puck at the Barrie blue line and putting home his 4th short handed goal and 9th of the season to give the Colts a two goal lead.
After trading penalties into the second period the Colts would jump on another powerplay and push the lead to three. Joey Keane would send a shot towards the goal, Piiroinen would make the initial save but Suzuki would bang home the rebound for his 6th of the year.
Keeping the pedal down, Tyson Foerster would add another just two minutes later sniping a shot over the blocker side to make it 5-1.
The only marker of third would come early as Jason Willms would one time his 3rd of the season from Pekar and make the final score of 6-1.
The Colts will now go back on the road for next week before returning home November 10th for the annual Remembrance Day game versus the Eastern Conference leading Ottawa 67's.
