Colts Beat Abilene; Snap Losing Streak

San Angelo, Texas --- The San Angelo Colts snapped a season-high, three-game losing streak with a 6-1 victory over the Abilene Prairie Dogs Saturday night at Foster Field.

Starter Logan Williamson (3-0) surrendered just one run on five hits in 6 2/3 innings of work to earn his third win of the year.

Abilene's lone run came in the second inning on an RBI ground out by second baseman Tylor Prudhomme. The ground out scored third baseman Wilson Batista, who began led the inning off with a single.

San Angelo tied the game in the fourth, and then took the lead for good with a three-run fifth inning. Catcher Josh Banda, second baseman Jason Diaz and right fielder J.J. Sherrill all scored in the fifth. Diaz went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI single in his return to San Angelo.

Then with the Colts leading 5-1 in the seventh, designated hitter Cory Patton blasted a solo home run into right field. It was his first homer of the season.

Abilene starter Adam Rowe (2-1) suffered the loss, allowing five runs on 12 hits in six innings.

This two-game series concludes Sunday evening at 6:05 p.m. Colts' lefty Kyle Boggio (0-1, 3.60) will make his first start opposite Prairie Dogs' righthander Braden Tullis (0-1, 5.63).

It will also be a Grand Slam Sunday, sponsored by Fiddlestrings. One lucky fan will win a 47" television courtesy of Fiddlestrings. Gates open at 5:05 p.m.
