Abilene Adds New Catcher

Abilene Prairie Dogs News Release


ABILENE, TX - In the wake of C Jessie Mier's injury, the Prairie Dogs signed C Gene Felise. Felise comes to the Prairie Dogs after a successful 2-year career with York College of Nebraska where he hit 10 home runs in 91 career games. The right-handed hitting catcher is originally from San Leandro, CA and hit .313 in his final season with the Panthers.

The Prairie Dogs also released LHP Casey Fry and 2B Reggie Williams. Fry made two appearances for a total of 2 innings. He gave up 3 hits, 2 runs, walked 1 and struck out 2 in his brief Prairie Dog career. He made his last appearance for Abilene on May 31st against Rio Grande.

Reggie Williams appeared in 13 games at shortstop and second base. Reggie hit .288 for Abilene, scored 6 runs, had 2 extra base hits, stole 2 bases and drove in 4.
