Colton Saucerman and Matt Leitner return to Manchester

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Manchester Monarchs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Rich Seeley, announced today that Colton Saucerman has been returned from loan by the Springfield Thunderbirds (AHL) and Matt Leitner has been returned from loan by the Utica Comets (AHL).

The Monarchs are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Los Angeles Kings.

Saucerman, 25, returns to the Monarchs after playing in eight games for the Thunderbirds where he collected four points on four assists, to go along with a +5 rating. He has played in 57 games this season for the Monarchs, recording 41 points on five goals and 36 assists, while racking up 82 penalty minutes.

The 5-foot-9, 194-pound native of Colorado Springs, Colo., has played in 114 ECHL games between the South Carolina Stingrays and the Manchester Monarchs since departing from Northeastern University in 2016, where he played in 140 games and recorded 64 points on 20 goals and 44 assists, while winning a Hockey East Championship in 2016. Saucerman has now played in 17 AHL games for the Hershey Bears (1), Springfield Thunderbirds (12), Providence Bruins (3) and the Ontario Reign (1).

Leitner, 27, returns to Manchester after being loaned to the Utica Comets on Mar. 18. Leitner appeared in five games for the Comets, where he posted one point on one goal. In 48 games this season for Manchester, he has racked up nine goals and 28 assists for 37 points, while recording 18 penalty minutes.

The 5-foot-9, 185-pound native of Los Alamitos, Calif., played in 149 career games for Minnesota State University from 2010 to 2015, where he scored 49 goals and added 113 assists for 162 points. In 51 games for the Monarchs during the 2016-17 season, he posted 14 goals and 39 assists for 53 points. Leitner also played in 17 games for the Springfield Thunderbirds (AHL) during the 2016-17 season, where he recorded five assists.

In separate transactions, Tony Turgeon and Jayce Hawryluk have been recalled by the Springfield Thunderbirds and the Monarchs have released Martin Nemcik and Jake Wood.

Saucerman, Leitner and the Monarchs start the first round of the playoffs on Friday, April 13 (7 p.m.) at SNHU Arena. To purchase individual tickets for the playoffs.
