
Colorado Signs Rookie Forward Travis Barron

WINDSOR, CO. - The Colorado Eagles, proud affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche, announced today that rookie forward Travis Barron has been signed to a Standard Player Contract. Barron was selected in the 7th round of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft by the Avalanche and was signed by Colorado to a three-year, entry-level contract last month. He has also appeared in each of the last two NHL development camps with the Avalanche and competed at the team's training camp prior to the 2017-18 season. He has appeared in two AHL games this season with the San Antonio Rampage, notching two assists.
Barron is coming off a four-year career with the Ottawa 67's of the OHL where he spent the final two seasons as the team's captain. The 19 year-old posted 59 goals and 90 assists in 250 OHL contests, including a career-high 21 goals and 36 assists during his final season with the 67's. A native of Belfountain, Ontario, the 6-foot-1, 200-pound center is the nephew of longtime NHL forward Andrew Cassels.
Colorado returns to action when they travel to Intrust Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas for Game One of their Opening Round Series of Kelly Cup Playoffs against the Wichita Thunder on Sunday, April 15th at 3:05pm MT.
