COMSTOCK PARK, MI - It's always exciting to watch Big Ten powerhouse Michigan and Notre Dame compete against each other. It's even better when you can do it for a good cause. And that will be the case when the two baseball teams meet on Tuesday, May 15 at Fifth Third Ballpark for the Baseball Bash 2007.

'This is our 12th year hosting this event and, every year, it seems to get better," said Whitecaps Director of Outside Events Matt Costello. "We've really seen it grow not only in attendance, but also in the level of baseball being played. Last year, there were several top draft picks, including current Whitecap draftee Jeff Kunkel and the Cubs fifth round choice Jeff Samardzija, on the field. This event has really become something people look forward to every year."

Baseball Bash 2007 is sponsored by the Grand Rapids chapters of the Notre Dame Alumni Club and the Michigan Alumni Club. The two alumni clubs split the proceeds from the event 50/50 and the money raised goes to each of their respective scholarship funds to assist local students with tuition. Ticket prices for the game remain the same as a Whitecaps game - $10 for box seats, $8.50 for reserved and $5 for lawn tickets - and are available at the Whitecaps Box Office or by calling the Whitecaps at (616) 784-4131.

"This game has become an event that baseball fans, Michigan fans and Notre Dame fans look forward to every year," said Costello. "We're looking forward to another great game this year."
