June 25, 2008 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Swift Current Broncos News Release
The Swift Current Broncos are pleased to announce that forward Cody Eakin has been named to Canada's Under-18 Selection Roster.
Cody is one of 16 players from the Western Hockey League taking part in the evaluation camp that features 40 of the best 1991 born players. The camp will take place in Calgary from August 1st to 6th, with 22 players then selected to take part in the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament August 12-16th in the Czech and Slovak Republics.
Eakin, from Winnipeg, had 11 goals and 17 points in 55 games this past season with the Broncos, his first in the WHL. It will be the first time Cody will take part in Hockey Canada's program of excellence as he missed last year's Under 17 tournament in London Ontario due to injury.
