Beattie named Assistant Coach

Cranbrook, BC - Jeff Chynoweth, General Manager of the Kootenay ICE Hockey Club, today announced the Club has hired Scott Beattie as an Assistant Coach. Beattie will replace Colin Patterson who will be moving to Peterborough, England to coach professional hockey this Fall

"We are very excited for Scott to join our organization as an Assistant Coach. Scott brings experience and knowledge of the game and will be an asset to our Club. Colin Patterson has done a wonderful job over the last nine years and he will be greatly missed." continued Chynoweth.

"To have the opportunity to be part of such a successful organization is a tremendous pleasure. The coaching staff has done a great job in the past year and I hope to help them build on their success." commented Scott Beattie.

Scott Beattie played 14 years of professional hockey in Switzerland, Germany, and Italy and most recently spent three years coaching the Kimberley Dynamiters of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League.

Scott Beattie is a native of Kimberley, BC. He and his wife Christine are the parents of two children - Hope (9) and Noa (2). Scott will be joining the ICE at Training Camp on August 25.
