
Clones Acquire Byfuglien

Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
Cincinnati, OH-Cyclones general manager and coach Chris Cichocki announced today that the team has signed defenseman Derrick Byfuglien (buff-lin). Byfuglien comes to Cincinnati after splitting last season between Mississippi and Greensboro. In the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, Byfuglien was a fourth round selection of the Ottawa Senators.
Byfuglien is competing in his third ECHL season. In the 2002-03 season, Byfuglien recorded two goals and 13 assists for 15 points with 68 penalty minutes in 63 ECHL games. During his pro career, Byfuglien has scored seven goals and added 19 assists for 26 points in 127 games.
Other Clones Transactions: The Cyclones dealt defenseman John Cronin to the ECHL's Augusta Lynx in exchange for future considerations. Cronin did not score during three games with the Clones while recording four penalty minutes and a plus-2 plus/minus rating.
