January 23, 2020 - NBA G League (G League)
Ontario Clippers News Release
SALT LAKE CITY, UT - The Agua Caliente Clippers (13-13) could not complete their comeback, falling short against the Salt Lake City Stars (19-7), 113-109, on Wednesday night.
The Stars came out of the gates red-hot, shooting 66.7 percent (16-for-24) from the field in the first quarter to came out of the frame with a 40-18 advantage. After finding themselves against a 28-point deficit, the Clippers made some adjustments at the half to chip away at the lead. Things became interesting in the waning seconds as Agua Caliente cut the Stars' lead all the way down to two with nine seconds remaining, but Salt Lake City would hang on for the victory.
James Palmer Jr.'s 24 points off the bench paced the Clippers. Mfiondu Kabengele, last week's G League Player of the Week, recorded 23 points and 11 rebounds for the double-double.
The Stars were led by Justin Wright-Foreman's all-around performance of 24 points, seven rebounds, and five assists.
The Clippers return to Ontario for the tail-end of a back-to-back, facing off against the Northern Arizona Suns. The matchup is scheduled to tip-off at 7 p.m. PST inside the Toyota Arena in Ontario, Calif.
