Raptors 905 (10-17) were defeated by the Greensboro Swarm (6-21) 108-101 Wednesday night at Paramount Fine Foods Centre. Jalen McDaniels posted a 20-point, 14-rebound double-double, while Caleb Martin paced the Swarm with a team-high 22 points. Henry Ellenson led all scorers with 25 points and secured a double-double with 15 rebounds in his 905 debut.
The teams exchanged the lead through-out the night, with a total of 18 lead changes in the game. The 905 racked up 10 assists in the opening quarter, leading to a 29-24 advantage after the opening period. Greensboro fought back in the second, responding with a 29-point quarter of its own, taking a one-point advantage into half.
After the 905 edged the Swarm in the third, Greensboro used a decisive final frame to earn the victory. Deadlocked at 4:12 in the fourth, the Swarm knocked down two three-pointers, courtesy of McDaniels and Kobi Simmons, to take a six-point lead which they would not relinquish.
Raptors 905 now head to Memphis for an 8 p.m. meeting with the Hustle on Friday night. Greensboro is also in action Friday night, when they visit the Delaware Blue Coats for a 7 p.m. tip.
