Ontario Clippers News Release

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Agua Caliente Clippers (2-0) prevailed on Monday afternoon, taking down the Oklahoma City Blue (1-1), 113-109, despite facing multiple double-digit deficits.

Six Clippers scored in double-figures, including all five starters, led by Donte Grantham's 21 points off the bench. He also finished with six rebounds and four assists.

Agua Caliente stumbled out of the gates, conceding a 12-0 run to start the game, but quickly regained their footing to take a 61-56 lead going into halftime. The Blue came out of the half with a 19-4 run but the Clippers once again responded, wiping away the double-digit deficit to end the third with an 84-81 advantage. After a back-and-forth final frame, a pair of Derrick Walton Jr. free throws with 15 seconds remaining would seal the game for the Clips.

James Palmer Jr. followed up his impressive 40 point performance with a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds. Johnthan Motley also added 20 points, seven rebounds, and three assists.

The Blue were led by DeVaughn Akoon-Purcell's 22 points and six rebounds off the bench.

The Clippers stay in Ontario to face their cross-town rival South Bay Lakers on Wednesday, Nov. 13. The ballgame tips off at 7 p.m. PST inside the Toyota Arena.
