Greensboro Swarm News Release
(GREENSBORO, N.C.) - The Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, today announced that the team will continue to partner with Bank of American to recognize veterans and active duty military members at all home games during the 2019-20 season. The partnership in its third season runs in conjunction with Hoops for Troops, the NBA Cares program to honor service members and their families for their dedication to the country.
"We are excited to continue our tradition of recognizing servicemen and women this season with Bank of America," Swarm President Steve Swetoha said. "Our organization values the dedication, commitment and sacrifice by all members of the armed forces to protect our freedom. We appreciate Bank of America standing with us for these ongoing recognitions."
"At Bank of America, we have a long-standing commitment to hiring and developing veterans as a focused part of our overall workforce," said Triad Market President Derek Ellington. "We respect the sacrifice that our veterans have made for all of us and we will continue to provide opportunities to succeed in our company."
At each the 24 home games at the Fieldhouse at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex, the Swarm will recognize all service members and veterans in attendance during a quarter-break tribute on behalf of Bank of America. Also, service members and veterans can also receive a 50 percent discount on tickets at the Fieldhouse Box Office throughout the season for their positive impact for our communities and country.
Members of the NBA family, including players, legends and coaches, participate in Hoops for Troops. Teams will wear Hoops for Troops warm-up shirts to commemorate Veterans Day. The NBA has a longstanding relationship with the Department of Defense to honor active and retired service members and their families.
