Drive Add Woodbury to Roster

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Drive, the Official NBA G League Affiliate of the Detroit Pistons, have added returning player Adam Woodbury to their 2019-20 roster. With the addition of Woodbury, the team has waived Robert Sampson.

Woodbury, the 7-foot-1, 245-pound center appeared in 36 games (21 starts) last season for the Drive where he averaged 6.6 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 18.9 minutes per game. The team first acquired Woodbury on Dec. 6, 2018 from the available player pool. Prior to the Drive, the Iowa native had spent time with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (2016-17, 2017-18), the Westchester Knicks (2017-18) and the Stockton Kings (2018-19).

While with the Drive, Woodbury will return to wearing number 34.

The Drive's sixth season started on the road this past weekend. Grand Rapids looks to go to 2-1 on the young year when they visit the Canton Charge Wednesday night at 7pm. The Drive will then return home for a back-to-back homestand on Friday and Saturday and play host to the Greensboro Swarm at DeltaPlex Arena.
