December 30, 2019 - NBA G League (G League)
Ontario Clippers News Release
SOUTHAVEN, MS - The Agua Caliente Clippers (8-9) end 2019 on a high note, coming from behind to stun the Memphis Hustle (15-4), 110-107, on Monday afternoon.
After Agua Caliente scored the opening bucket, the Hustle held onto the lead for almost the duration of the game, leading by as much as 15. However, the tides turned when a fourth quarter push by the Clippers, capped off by two Xavier Rathan-Mayes three-pointers, gave the Clippers a 99-96 advantage with 5:16 remaining. Memphis put up a fight down the stretch but the Clippers responded to hang on to the victory.
All five Clippers' starters scored in double-figures, led by Rathan-Mayes' 25 points on 5-of-10 shooting from distance. LA Clippers assignee Terance Mann added 19 points, eight rebounds, and five assists.
The Hustle were paced by Matt Mooney's game-high 28 points on 10-of-13 shooting from the field and seven-of-nine shooting from three-point range.
The Clippers open the new year in Canada, taking on the Raptors 905 in their second ever meeting. Tip-off is at 1 p.m. PST inside the Paramount Fine Foods Centre in Mississauga, Ontario.
