
Claws Rally for 5-4 Win Thursday in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, DE - The BlueClaws rallied from two runs down to top Wilmington 5-4 on Thursday night at Frawley Stadium. Carlos De La Cruz and DJ Stewart homered to tie the game in the sixth inning before a fielder's choice grounder from De La Cruz scored the winning run in the seventh.
The BlueClaws (12-22) had dropped the first two games of the six-game series with the Blue Rocks (18-15).
Nick Matera doubled in two runs in the first to put the BlueClaws up 2-0. Wilmington's Onix Vega doubled in two of his own in the fourth to tie the game before the Blue Rocks added two runs in the fifth for a 4-2 lead.
De La Cruz (third) and Stewart (second) each homered in the sixth to tie the game. Then in the seventh, Nick Matera scored on a fielder's choice grounder from De La Cruz to give the BlueClaws the lead.
Erubial Armenta (2-1) earned the win, allowing one hit over a scoreless inning. Tyler McKay followed with two scoreless innings and Jason Ruffcorn got the last three outs to earn his sixth save of the season.
Johan Rojas stole his 21st base of the year without being caught.
The teams continue their series on Friday night at 6:35 pm.
