CONEY ISLAND, NY - Dominic Pipkin and the Jersey Shore BlueClaws shut out the Brooklyn Cyclones, the High-A affiliate of the New York Mets, 3-0 Sunday afternoon at Maimonides Park.

BIG MOMENTS

Jersey Shore plated a trio of runs against Justin Lasko in the third inning, scoring on a two-run triple from Nate Fassnacht and a sac fly from Logan O'Hoppe to make it 3-0.

BlueClaws righty Dominic Pipkin struck out five over five innings of two-hit, no-walk ball for the victory. Brooklyn starter Justin Lasko took the loss even though he turned in a quality start, striking out six over six innings of three-run ball.

Brooklyn had runners at second and third with two outs in the ninth when Francisco Alvarez was thrown out by DJ Stewart on a bang-bang play at first base to end the game.

NEWS AND NOTES

The Cyclones controlled their own destiny Sunday to win the series but split with Jersey Shore three games apiece. The Cyclones are not 0-5-3 in series this season.

Justin Lasko owns three of Brooklyn's five quality starts since joining the team in early June.

Ronny Mauricio finished the series with Jersey Shore 3-24 and is now hitting .105(8-76) and .330 on the road (31-94).
