Claws Get 10-Inning Win 4-3 on Wednesday for Series Win

CHARLESTON, WV - Jake Scheiner hit RBI single in top of the 10th inning and Kyle Dohy escaped a jam in the bottom of the 10th as the BlueClaws topped West Virginia 4-3 on Wednesday afternoon.
This was the first use of the new experimental extra inning rules for the BlueClaws. The rules require each team begins each extra inning with a runner on second base. Scheiner came through with a single to score Simon Muzziotti and give the BlueClaws the lead.
In the bottom ofthe inning, Kyle Dohy's error set up the Power with two on and nobody out but eh got two strikeouts and a groundout to save his second game of the season.
Lakewood (3-4) takes two of three in the series from West Virginia (3-4).
Addison Russ (1-0) threw two scoreless innings to earn the win.
The BlueClaws opened the scoring in the fourth inning on a Cole Stobbe RBI single. He drove in Colby Fitch, who started the two-out rally with a single and advnced on a base hit by Jhailyn Ortiz.
West Virginia got their only run off Ramon Rosso in the fifth on a two-out rally of their own. Lolo Sanchez drove in Chris Sharpe with a single to tie the game at one.
Lakewood took the lead in the sixth on a Stobbe RBI double and Nick Maton RBI single off starter Domingo Robles, before the Power tied the game with two in the bottom of the sixth off Luis Carrasco.
BlueClaws starter Ramon Rosso struck out 12 Power hitters over five innings, allowing just one run. Rosso set a new US career high, besting his previous career high of nine strikeouts set last year with the GCL Phillies and Williamsport. Power starter Domingo Robles gave up three runs in 5.2 innings and neither starter factored in the decision.
The BlueClaws head home and open the home schedule with a 6:35 pm Thursday game against Delmarva. LHP Will Stewart (1-0) starts for Lakewood opposite LHP Cameron Bishop (1-0).
