Salisbury, MD - The Lakewood BlueClaws (18-24) returned to action and took down the Delmarva Shorebirds (19-23), 3-1 Monday night at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium. The win marked the third in four games against Delmarva for the BlueClaws and upped the road record to 8-10.

With the game tied at 1-1 in the sixth, it was the middle of the order that put the 'Claws in front, for good. With one out, Zach Taylor hit into a fielder's choice, but moved to third on a hustle double, by Larry Greene, Jr. Mitch Walding followed with an RBI single and put the 'Claws .

Roman Quinn tacked on an insurance run in the seventh with a solo home run to right field. The homer was Quinn's fourth of the season, one of which was an inside the park homerun, and it gave the BlueClaws the 3-1 lead.

The Shorebirds took advantage of an error by Roman Quinn and plated a run in the first. Gregory Lorenzo grounded to short, but Quinn kicked it to his left, and allowed the first batter of the game to reach.

After he moved to second on a wild pitch, Lorenzo was bumped to third on a sacrifice bunt and scored on Tucker Nathans' sacrifice fly and the 'Birds led 1-0.

In the third, it was the BlueClaws that manufactured a run. Mitch Walding reached on Joel Hutter's error at third, and scored three batters later on Quinn's RBI double, that tied the game at 1-1.

Jonathan Musser took the hill and began his 2013 campaign with the Lakewood BlueClaws. The righty pitched through the first five innings and allowed just the one, unearned, run on three hits; he walked three and struck out one. Musser (1-0) picked up the win courtesy of Walding's single in the sixth.

Jordan Guth took over in the sixth for the starter and was outstanding over the next three frames. He delivered three scoreless, hitless innings; he walked two and struck out four. Steven Inch locked down his fifth save with a perfect ninth inning.

The Shorebirds' starter Mark Blackmar went the first five and two-thirds innings and gave up two runs on five hits; he walked one and struck out three. Blackmar dropped to 0-3 with the loss.

In the win, Chace Numata reached for the 21st consecutive game and Art Charles extended his streak to 20 straight games.
