Spokane Indians News Release
SPOKANE, Wash. - Ledarius Clark played the role of Superman on Thursday night, as the left fielder went 4-for-5 with two triples, an RBI, two runs scored and three stolen bases. However, it wasn't enough as Everett completed the sweep of Spokane thanks to a seven-run third inning, ultimately winning 11-4 at Avista Stadium in front of 5,441 fans. It was Dollars in Your Dog Night, presented by Mirabeau Park Hotel and NOW 105.7.
The top half of the third doomed Spokane. Indians center fielder Darius Day committed a fielding error to allow Everett's Yordi Calderon to turn an out into a double. It was all downhill from there, as the AquaSox bat around the order en route to seven runs in the frame.
Spokane starter Emerson Martinez was pulled midway through the third after allowing seven runs on eight hits. His ERA skyrocketed to 16.88 on the season. His reliever, University of Washington product Tyler Davis, gave up two more runs on four hits to raise his ERA to 18.90.
Diego Cedeno and Leon Byrd each drove in runs on evening as well. Both Cedeno and Byrd grounded out to score their respective runs. Clark singled home Ti'Quan Forbes in the second.
Dario Beltre, making his second appearance of the year, was one of the bright spots on the night. In 2.2 innings, the Domincan Republic native struck out four hitters and allowed one hit while keep the AquaSox from adding to their lead.
The Spokane Indians head on the road tomorrow for a five-game series against the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes.
