The Ogden Raptors lost the first game of a four-game series with the Idaho Falls Chukars 5-3 Thursday night at Melaleuca Field.

With the game tied 3-3, Idaho Falls scored the deciding runs in the bottom of the seventh. With two outs, Corey Toups and Desmond Henry drew consecutive walks. After an infield single to shortstop by Jecksson Flores loaded the bases, Ryan O'Hearn had his fourth hit of the game off the leg of pitcher Brock Stewart for a single, scoring Toups. Robert Pehl followed with an RBI single to left to give the Chukars a 5-3 lead.

The Raptors had taken a lead in the sixth inning. With one out, Colin Hering walked, and Justin Chigbogu hit a two-run homer to center field, his third of the season, to give Ogden a 3-2 lead.

Idaho Falls tied it right back up in the bottom of the sixth with a home run from O'Hearn, which was also his third.

Both starters were solid Thursday in no decisions. Ogden's Jose De Leon lasted six innings and allowed three runs on seven hits with nine strikeouts. Idaho Falls' Torey Deshazier also pitched six innings and allowed three runs on three hits with three strikeouts.

The Raptors and Chukars continue their four-game series Friday as Bernardo Reyes takes the mound for Ogden against lefty Eric Skoglund. Game starts at 6:00 and can be heard on 97.5 The Zone.
