The Border Cats opened their final road trip of the season Sunday with a 4-2 loss to the Wisconsin Woodchucks at Athletic Park in Wausau. The game was the first of six games the Cats will play against South Division teams this season. The loss dropped Thunder Bay's second half record to 5-17.

The Cats opened the scoring as Dylan Becker (Missouri State University) connected for his fifth home run, a solo shot in the top of the 1st inning. The Woodchucks scored a pair of runs in the 3rd inning and added single runs in the 5th and 7th frames. Thunder Bay's second run came in the 8th inning as Tyler Duplantis (Nicholls State University) scored on a throwing error. Duplantis finished the night 2-4 with a double.

Clint Knoblauch (Florida Gulf Coast University) started for the Cats and took the loss to fall to 3-6. The righthander pitched four innings and gave up three runs on six hits and three walks. Anthony Pastrana (Dominican College) struck out three and allowed just one run in relief over the final four innings.

The Cats have Monday off before resuming their two-game series with the Woodchucks on Tuesday night. Cats infielders Kyle Hann (Mississippi State University) and Philip Lyons (Nicholls State University) will travel to Madison, WI., Monday and play before Major League scouts at the inaugural NWL Big League Dreams Showcase.
