
Chinooks Ready for Monday's Home Opener

Grafton, WI, June 1, 2012 - The Lakeshore Chinooks, the Milwaukee area's new baseball franchise, are ready for their inaugural Home Opener at Kapco Park on Monday, June 4.
At 5:00 p.m., gates will open to a sell-out crowd, and Milwaukee's own Chasin' Mason will entertain fans on the plaza. Shortly after 6:00 p.m., opening ceremonies will begin, featuring the first pitch by Hall of Famer Robin Yount and the National Anthem sung by country music singer-songwriter Katrina Elam. Play begins at 6:45 p.m. (*note special start time due to opening ceremonies) vs. the Eau Claire Express.
Fans will enjoy classic ballpark fare and gourmet specialty items all at affordable prices. No one should miss a visit to the "The Tackle Box" for Chinooks apparel, and families will enjoy stopping at the Kids Zone for fun activities.
The Lakeshore Chinooks are the newest member of the Northwoods League, a summer wood bat league for college players. The Chinooks roster features top collegiate players from around the country including schools such as University of Florida, University of Arkansas, Georgia Tech, Louisville University and other top baseball schools.
Lakeshore Chinooks games offer affordable family fun with ticket prices ranging from $11 for reserved box seats to $5 for general admission entrance. An all-inclusive party area is also available for group outings. Chinooks games will include great game day giveaways and fun in-between inning contests and promotions.
The Chinooks will play 70 games this summer; 35 home games at the new Kapco Park, a state of the art facility on the campus of Concordia University Wisconsin in Mequon.
The Northwoods League has more teams, plays more games, and draws more fans than any other summer collegiate baseball league in North America. The league has 16 teams in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Michigan, and Ontario.
