
Chillicothe rallies past Wild Things 5-4

The Washington Wild Things, presented by Washington Savings bank lost to the Chillicothe Paints 5-4 in front of a sellout crowd of 3,515 at Falconi Field.
The Paints rallied from a 4-2 deficit with a 3 run eighth inning against Washington relievers Doug Heagen and Anthony Kozol. Heagen relieved Matt McDonnell in the eighth and was charged with one run. Kozol then gave up an RBI single to Doug Dreher to tie the game. Darin Kinsolving had the game winning RBI with a sacrifice fly to win the game for Chillicothe.
The Wild Things scored all of their runs on solo home runs. Jay Coakley hit two solo homers in the fourth and eighth innings. Jake Bollig and Josh Loggins each hit solo homers to account for the Washington scoring.
Matt McDonnell pitched 7 1/3 effective inningsâbut did not figure in the decision. Greg Hansard got the win, despite giving up Coakley's homer in the eighth, to improve his record to 2-0. Kozol took the loss to drop to 2-1. Andrew see hurled the ninth inning to pick up his fifth save.
The Wild Things will hit the road this evening and play a 3 game series in Florence. Sunday's game time is 7:05.
