
Kings Drop One in Front of Sellout Crowd

The Kalamazoo Kings were back in action again today in front of a sell out crowd against the Richmond Roosters. In a very close game on this Independence Day the Kings were not able to hold on, losing 6-5.
The Kings started the first inning scoring 4 runs on RBIs from Chris Carter, Matt Kent, and Walt Simmons. The only other run the Kings were able to get came in the fifth inning when Simmons doubled to score Carter. Unfortunately the Roosters exploded for 4 run in the seventh inning giving them a 6-5 lead.
The loss was charged to Lee Naplin giving him his first loss of the year.
The winning pitcher for the Roosters was Jake Gann.
The Kings will be home again tomorrow at 6:35 for the final game against the Richmond Roosters.
