
Rascals Defeat Gateway, 4-2, in 14-Inning Marathon

River City Rascals News Release
Michael Conner's 2-run homer off of losing pitcher Michael Golden (0-2) in the top of the 14th inning led River City to a 4-2 win over the Gateway Grizzlies in front of a 4th of July crowd at GMC Stadium.
River City took a 1-0 lead on a solo homer in the 1st inning by Brian Fuess and led 2-1 after three innings. Phil Warren's solo homer in the 4th inning would tie the game at 2 until Conner's homer in the 14th.
Nick Niedbalski (3-1) pitched 4 1/3 innings of hitless relief to pick up the win while Wes Jaillet pitched a perfect 14th to record his 5th save of the season.
The Rascals (16-21) will look to sweep the Grizzlies (18-16) on Saturday night at 6:05 pm at GMC Stadium. Dan Shouse (1-4) will start for River City against Joe Dooley (1-2). Tickets are available for the SONIC Crosstown Clash game at GMC Stadium or through Metrotix.
RASCALS OFFICE CLOSED UNTIL MONDAY MORNING
Due to the 4th of July holiday, the Rascals office will be closed until Monday morning at 8:30am.
