El Paso Chihuahuas News Release
The El Paso Chihuahuas almost completed a six-run comeback for the second straight game, but fell short in their 7-5 loss to the Albuquerque Isotopes Monday night at Isotopes Park. Albuquerque scored four runs in the first inning and two more in the second, collecting eight hits in the first two frames against Chihuahuas starter Donn Roach.
El Paso scored its first run on Jace Peterson's RBI groundout in the fourth and added four more runs in a seven-batter fifth. The rally included an RBI single by Rocky Gale, a pinch-hit sacrifice fly from Jason Lane, an RBI triple by Reymond Fuentes and a sacrifice fly from Jonathan Galvez. Gale finished 3-for-4 with an RBI.
The Chihuahuas had multiple baserunners in both the eighth and ninth innings but could not score against the Isotopes bullpen. Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Carl Crawford went 2-for-4 with a triple and an RBI in his third rehab assignment game working back from an injured ankle. Despite the loss, El Paso has still won ten of its last 16 games.
