SALT LAKE CITY (Aug. 15, 2018) - The Salt Lake Bees fell 7-1 to the El Paso Chihuahuas in the final game of their seven game homestand.

The Bees drew first blood with a Sherman Johnson single scoring Bo Way in the second inning, but El Paso would respond with two runs in the third, four runs in the fifth and a run in the sixth. Way and Johnson each had two hits to lead the Bees offense with Way's double accounting for the only extra base hit of the night for the Bees.

Salt Lake starter Deck McGuire did not allow a hit and was removed after one inning of work. Reliever Greg Mahle (3-3) took the loss as he allowed three runs over three innings of work. The loss dropped the Bees 4.5 back of El Paso with 18 games remaining.

Smith's Ballpark hosted 70,404 fans over the seven game homestand with five nights exceeding 10,000 fans. The Bees depart on an 11-game, 12-day road trip to Reno, Las Vegas and Fresno before returning home to Salt Lake on Tuesday, Aug. 28 for a seven-game homestand to finish the 2018 regular season.
