DES MOINES, IA - The Iowa Cubs (45-76) use a six-run fourth inning to cruise past the Colorado Springs Sky Sox (61-59) by a score of 9-3 on Thursday afternoon at Principal Park.

Iowa and Colorado Springs opened the scoring in the third with both teams adding two runs in the inning. Colorado Springs gathered its runs on RBI singles from Quintin Berry and Tyler Saladino, while Iowa answered the call and immediately scored two runs in the bottom of the frame, courtesy of a Stephen Bruno double and Mark Zagunis bases-loaded walk.

The I-Cubs then exploded for a six-run fourth inning. Ryan Court added two RBI on a single to right field to increase his RBI total to a team-high 59. Jason Vosler crushed his eighth home run of the season in the same inning and Chris Gimenez also drove in Zagunis with a double to help the I-Cubs claim an 8-2 lead.

Colorado added a run in the top of the fifth to end Trevor Clifton's afternoon. Clifton went 4.2 innings before being replaced by Kyle Ryan, who kept the game at 8-3. Ryan was today's winning pitcher and threw a spotless 3.1 innings of relief.

In the seventh, Bruno hit his second double of the game to drive in Iowa's ninth run and sum up the day's scoring. Bruno ended the contest 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs and two RBI. Gimenez tabbed the lineup's other multi-hit game, going 2-for-5.
