Chiefs Welcome Wheat Kings Wednesday

October 27, 2009 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Spokane Chiefs News Release

The Spokane Chiefs will welcome the Brandon Wheat Kings to the Spokane Arena for the first TicketsWest Player Magnet Wednesday of the season. Every Wednesday, the Chiefs are teaming up with TicketsWest and 105.7 The Peak to hand out a special collector's series Chiefs player magnet celebrating our 25th Anniversary. This season will we feature two players on the magnet, one from this season along with a former player. The first 1,000 fans through the gates (and all full season ticket holders) receive a free player magnet at every Wednesday home game.

Wednesday's game will begin a stretch of four games in five nights as the Chiefs will travel to Kelowna on Friday and have a home-and-home series with Portland on Saturday and Sunday.

Brandon visits the Arena for the first time since a 4-3 Spokane win on October 23rd, 2007. Mitch Wahl had a goal and two assists in the game two seasons ago that the Chiefs led 3-0 midway through the second period. In the Chiefs and Wheat Kings lone game last year Brandon handed the Chiefs a 4-1 loss despite a 34-23 Spokane shot advantage.

The Chiefs hold a 13-5-1 record in the regular season versus the Wheaties since the 1995-96 season. Brandon defeated the Chiefs in a five game series in the '95-'96 WHL Finals. The Wheat Kings will be the host of the 2010 Memorial Cup.

Tickets to all home games are available by calling the Chiefs office at (509) 535-PUCK or TicketsWest at (800) 325-SEAT.
