Burlington, IA - The Peoria Chiefs fell victim to a dominating performance by Burlington Bees' starter John Lamb Saturday night in a 4-0 loss at Community Field. The loss ends a two-game win streak and drops the Chiefs to 21-16 on the season. The Chiefs fell behind in the second inning as the Bees loaded the bases and scored twice against starter Su-Min Jung. Joey Lewis led off with a single and moved to third on a double by Carlo Testa. Rene Oriental reached on a dropped third strike to load the bases, and Juan Graterol gave the Bees a 1-0 lead with a single to left. Testa scored on a fielders' choice to third for a 2-0 lead before Jung escaped the inning with a double play off the bat of Allen Caldwell. Burlington doubled their lead in the third inning with the long ball. With one down Deivy Batista drew a walk and Wil Myers smoked a two-run homer to left off Jung. The homer, Myers' fifth of the season, gave Burlington a 4-0 lead. Lamb shut the Chiefs out through seven innings allowing just four hits, three of which were singles. Lamb lowered his ERA to 1.57 with three strikeouts and one walk issued. The Chiefs only got one runner past second base against Lamb and never had two runners on base at the same time against the lefty. Jung (4-2) allowed four runs on five hits over five innings. He walked one, struck out four and allowed a homer for the second start in row. Yohan Gonzalez, who joined the Chiefs roster on Friday, threw two shutout innings with a strikeout and one hit allowed. Jordan Latham threw a perfect eighth inning with three groundball outs.
