
Chiefs Manager Sandberg Suspended

CLINTON, IA IA- The Peoria Chiefs in conjunction with the Midwest League announced today that Chiefs Manager Ryne Sandberg has been suspended three games for his role in a bench-clearing incident Thursday night.
Sandberg will begin serving the suspension tonight in Clinton and will also miss Sunday's afternoon tilt between the Chiefs and LumberKings at Alliant Energy Field. The final game will be served Monday night when the Chiefs host the Quad Cities River Bandits at O'Brien Field at 6:30 PM.
The Chiefs conclude a 10-game road trip in Clinton Sunday at 2:00 PM before opening a four game series with the St. Louis Cardinals affiliate Quad Cities on Monday. Monday is Sprint Money Monday at O'Brien Field with all tickets half price. The series is the only Cubs-Cardinals affiliate battle at O'Brien Field in 2008. Wednesday May 14 all fans receive free hot dogs and peanuts through the seventh inning.
