Syracuse, NY--The Syracuse Chiefs, Triple-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, are pleased to announce that infielder Chase Lambin has been named an All-Star for the upcoming Triple-A All-Star Game on July 14th at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown, PA.

The 30-year-old Lambin, in his first season in the Washington organization, entered play today hitting .294 with a team-best 23 doubles, 9 home runs and 38 RBI. The switch-hitting Lambin has hit .301 against left-handed pitching and .290 against righties. Lambn has played both corner outfield positions along with third and second base for the Chiefs in 2010.

Lambin's 23 doubles is 10 shy of his career high of 33 he totaled between Double-A Binghamton and Triple-A Norfolk in 2005 while in the Mets organization. Lambin was drafted in the 34th round by the Mets in 2002. He spent last season in Japan where he played for Chiba Lotte and manager Bobby Valentine.

The IL and PCL have split 12 games since the inception of the current All-Star format. The winning league will earn the right for its champion to play as the home team in the Triple-A National Championship Game in Oklahoma City in September.
