
Chiefs In, Snappers Out of Playoffs

With a 8-6 win over Beloit today the Peoria Chiefs have elminated the Snappers from a possible playoff berth. Peoria jumped on top of Beloit early scoring two runs in each of the first two innings. Lou Palmisano homered in the bottom of the second to make it 4-1 in favor of Peoria. The Chiefs tacked on three more runs in the top of fourth to stretch their lead to 7-1. Beloit closed the gap to 7-5 with four runs of in the bottom of the fifth. Each team exchanged runs in the ninth, but Beloit would come up short losing 8-6. Justin Barnes (1-3) took the loss going 3.1 innings and allowing five runs (one earned) on five hits.
