
Chiefs Host Portland Wednesday

For the second straight home game, the Spokane Chiefs welcome the Portland Winterhawks to the Arena on TicketsWest Player Magnet Wednesday. Spokane has won the last two games versus Portland, including Saturday night's 4-3 decision in front of 7,638. Steven Kuhn scored a pair of goals and Brenden Kichton had two assists.
After starting the season 2-5-0-0, the Chiefs have gone 12-4-2-2 and registered a point in 11 of their last 12 games, including six straight contests. Spokane will play three games in four nights this week, including a pair at home.
Due to a scheduling conflict, Wednesday night's game can be heard on AM 790 KJRB. Friday and Saturday's games will return to 1510 KGA.
Spokane and Portland will play nine times this season, five times in the Spokane Arena and four times in Portland. The Winterhawks won't be back in Spokane until Wednesday, February 8th. In their previous meeting, the Chiefs scored three first period goals en route to a 3-1 win on November 21st in Portland. Blake Gal, Anthony Bardaro and Kenton Miller all had goals for the Chiefs. Gal and Bardaro scored seven seconds apart to tie a record for fastest goals in franchise history. Portland won the first two meetings this year by one goal, 3-2 on October 8th and 2-1 on the 9th. On average, the Chiefs are outshooting Portland 42.3-26.8.
